The first future-setting GenAI community in Austria organised by AI Austria kicked things of on 3rd of September. Ruben Hetfleisch led through an evening full of exciting GenAI-Content.
As it was the first event of its kind, it's amazing that over 60 people found their way to the Impact Hub Vienna that evening. The excellent mix of researchers, users, enthusiastic private individuals and of course, nerds (the author identifies himself as one!😊) was particularly exciting.
The evening was guided and moderated by our GenAI Community Lead Ruben Hetfleisch, who emphasized the importance of coming together on such dynamic and hype-driven topics in order to learn together and achieve added value for society.
Christian Hamböck from Viesure Innovation Center kicked off all the key notes by talking about the specifics of establishing GenAI in large corporations. He emphasized the importance of bringing different departments together around one table and focused in particular on company-specific challenges.
Gertraud Leimüller from Leiwand AI drew particular attention to the upcoming challenges in working with GenAI. Among other things, she spoke about bias, stereotypes, cybersecurity and classic hallucinations.
Daniel Valtiner from Infineon then demonstrated an exciting maintenance chatbot. This was able to identify problems independently and thus be a real assistant for maintenance engineers. His personal insights into the development of Genai were a particular source of fascination in the room.
Linus Kohl from Fraunhofer Austria impressed the audience with his in-depth description of technological challenges and the need to back up large language models with causal models. He emphasized how important causal AI is, especially in terms of user acceptance.
After the conclusion, all participants were able to discuss all the exciting topics over catering and drinks. The eagerness and involvement of the participants in the discussions was particularly noteworthy!
Special thanks go to Viesure Innovation Center for sponsoring the catering and the location!
Did you miss being part of this fundamental technological development? 🔥 There will be a Winter edition on 5th November with even more future-oriented discussions!
